Recognized as one of the foremost singers of Rabindra Sangeet in recent times, Mrs. Maya Sen, head of the department of Rabindrasangeet at Rabindrabharati university has lauded Mita’s unique ability to infuse emotion and life into each song, a characteristic that distinguishes her from her peers.

Additionally, Pandit Jayanta Bose, another renowned musician, singer, composer, praised Mita for her technical mastery and heartfelt interpretations, saying that "she earned the right to sing Rabindrasangeet."

As a student at Rabindra Bharati University, Mita immersed herself in the works of Rabindranath Tagore, exploring the intricate characteristics of Tagore's compositions. Mita Kundu a popular singer, has demonstrated her prolific talents extensively in Kolkata, the U.S., and Canada. When Mita takes the stage, her presence is magnetic. The audience is captivated not only by her vocal prowess but also by the genuine emotion woven into each performance.

Mita has demonstrated her prolific talents extensively in Kolkata, the U.S., and Canada. In India, her programs were broadcast on prominent television channels like All India Doordarshan, Tara Bangla TV, ETV Bangla, and Akash Bangla, as well as on All India Radio and leading FM radio channels, and American radio networks in both Atlanta, Georgia, and Portland, Oregon.

Mita was one of the lead performers at the 2005 Silver Jubilee North American Bengali Conference (NABC) celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York, sharing the stage with top Indian artists. From 1997 to 2005, Mita was a regular performer at the NABC all over U.S.A. and Canada. She was invited to perform in San Francisco for Tagore's 150th. birth anniversary celebration along with Rezwana "banya" Chowdhury and Srikanta Acharya. She performed in Seattle, Baltimore, New York, Atlanta and a few other cities across U.S.A. during Durga Puja festivals  

For several years, Mita performed for the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation, which was founded by Bollywood superstar, director, and producer Mr. Sunil Dutt. Mr. Sunil Dutt expressed his appreciation for Mita, after her performance at a Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation fundraiser saying: "I have been really been touched by Mita's beautiful songs."

Mita has performed regularly in Kolkata, at Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Rabindrasadan, Sisir Mancho, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Mancho, Kalakunjo and many rural and urban stages during Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Rabindrajayanti -Tagore's birthday- celebrations and other festivals. 

Mita's music albums and single music tracks are widely available on her website, CD Baby and popular streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music. Her album, "Robir Aloy Mita," received the prestigious "Editor's Choice" award from Anandabazar Patrika in 2009.

Mita is a highly accomplished musician, having graduated with honors in Rabindra Sangeet from Rabindra Bharati University, one of the premier music institutions in India. Her dedication and talent in this unique genre of music earned her top accolades during her studies, showcasing her deep understanding of the rich cultural heritage embodied in Rabindra Sangeet. In addition to her esteemed degree, Mita has also been awarded for her musical prowess with the "Sangeet Prabhakar" degree from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, a renowned music school located in Allahabad, India.
